It would be an understatement to say that I am overjoyed at reading Dr Choi’s new book, A Brief History of Korean Martial Arts.
For any western student of the Korean Martial Arts like myself, in pursuit of knowledge of their chosen subject, who have struggled to find an authentic, plausible, and comprehensive history of this fascinating subject, we need look no further.
The depth and breadth of this wonderful treasure trove of scholarly knowledge and information is unsurpassed, and draws you into the unique and wonderful world of Korean Martial Arts, from its early development, right through to the modern day.
Dismantling myth and fantasy often found in some publications fashioned to promote diverse narratives, this will undoubtedly become the book, that will be quoted time and again, when knowledge and understanding is required, about the authentic history of the classical Martial Arts of Korea.
Thank you, Dr Choi, for producing the most authoritative, informative, and insightful book, on the History of Korean Martial Arts.
