Since time immemorial, human beings have searched for the elixir of life - the secret that will give them eternal life or immortality. For some, the natural way of things, birth, life and death, is simply not acceptable; nothing less than to live forever is their ultimate goal. Those who carried on this search were called alchemists and over millennia, this search has taken on many forms. In Europe most alchemists hoped to turn lead into gold. However, in the Orient, the goals were often different. From the Emperors of China down, nothing was more valuable than life itself. Therefore, Chinese alchemists searched tirelessly for a potion, or an elixir of life, that would grant them immortality. The Oriental theory of The Red Field forms a major part of this search and is central to Oriental Philosophy, Oriental Medicine, and the Oriental Martial arts. Although the theory of the Red Field is utilised by traditional Oriental philosophers, doctors and martial artists alike, our main interest and focus, as martial arts practitioners, is the development of the lower Red Field, where the original, Pre-Heavenly Ki is stored, and where the seat of all power is considered to reside. We will see that the quantity and quality of Ki we receive at conception, will have a great influence on our lives, and to a certain extent, we can either strengthen or weaken this primordial life-force energy. WORKSHOP EVENT DETAILS - There will be a maximum of 30 participants per workshop. - Participant of all ranks are welcome on this workshop. - A participant must be 10 years old or over. - Martial Art uniforms should be worn. - A Han Guk Mu Sool Certificate of Workshop Attendance will be given upon completion. - Hosting School is responsible for travel and accommodation costs for the Workshop provider.
