We are delighted to announce that Ji Hae Kwan Jang Nim Philip Hinchliffe, one of the two Chief Instructors within Han Guk Mu Sool®, has been promoted to 8th Dahn.

This prestigious promotion is a reflection of Master Philip’s lifelong dedication to Korean Martial Arts and his deep commitment to teaching, leadership and service.

Master Philip began his martial arts journey in 1984 under the instruction of Ji Hae Kwan Jang Nim Philip D Holmes, a relationship that continues to this day. In 1990, he joined the prison service, where he taught self-defence, control and restraint to officers, a role that demonstrated both his technical skill and ability to teach under pressure.

Since earning his first Master’s title in 2005, Ji Hae Kwan Jang Nim Philip has gone on to teach hundreds of students across multiple locations, always upholding the highest standards of Han Guk Mu Sool®.

Outside the dojang, he serves as a Headteacher in Norfolk, working with young people who need support with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. His commitment to education and personal development perfectly complements our core values.
