Led by our Chief Master, Philip D Holmes, and our Chief Instructor, John Gravenall, the Spanish Seminar was a remarkable event that brought together students and Masters from our 3 Spanish schools, as well as Masters and representatives from the UK. This gathering was a unique opportunity for practitioners to delve deep into the art of the Sword and our Fighting platforms.
Throughout the intensive 5-hour session, participants were fully immersed in the fundamentals of Swordsmanship, guided by Master Holmes, followed by dedicated training on the 4 key sets of Sword Sparring. The focus on precision, technique, and discipline truly elevated the learning experience for everyone involved.
As the Sword Seminar led by Master Holmes came to a close, the event seamlessly transitioned into the Fighting Platforms segment, where Master John skillfully led the team through the basics of stand-up to floor-based self-defense and combat techniques. Despite the challenging 30-degree heat, the dedication and enthusiasm of all attendees shone through as they embraced the physical demands of the training, with Master John imparting valuable lessons that were both insightful and practical.
Following a day filled with learning and growth, the participants came together for a relaxing evening meal basking in the warmth of the setting sun, fostering camaraderie and shared experiences. This laid a perfect foundation for the upcoming National testing and promotion event, promising further opportunities for growth and development within the community.
